I strive to provide an environment in which all students feel safe and supported. With a warm and welcoming environment, I am dedicated to fostering high-quality academic and social experiences for each and every student. Focused on developing the whole child, I approach education with character and life skills in mind.

Creating targeted programming students can begin to feel comfortable and motivated to engage in learning. Having an individualized approach allows students to shape their own work, as well as give them the choice and ownership of their own learning. Acting as a facilitator rather than a transmitter of information emphasizes the learning process rather than the learning product (Anderson, Chiarotto & Comay, 2017).

Most importantly, recognizing that every student is unique and operating on the mission statement, “if a child cannot learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn” (“Should Technology Be Used in Every Classroom?”, 2006). Sharing the same beliefs of Ontario's Ministry of Education (2013) also states that all students can succeed given effective differentiated instruction and universal design that support the needs of each individual student. Keeping this in mind, I recognize that “fairness is not sameness” (Ontario Ministry of Education, 2013, p. 7). I am committed to targeting student needs by approaching each student’s education in the ways that best supports their growth and development.
