2. On page 67 what do you think is rude about this situation? How would this make you feel? Based on those feelings what would you start thinking about yourself or in other words what inner dialogue would you start to form?

3. What are some movies and books you have seen or read that make you feel represents a community or disability that is not normally seen?

Terms

FM- Frequency Modulator (FM) used to help people with a hearing loss people to hear in group settings.

Congenital hearing loss- Hearing loss that a person is born with.

Pre-lingual hearing loss- Hearing loss that a person has diagnosed before learning language.

Hard of hearing- hearing loss that falls in mild to profound hearing loss

Deaf- Profound hearing loss

Assistive devices- hard of hearing people wear technology to support their lifestyle examples are hearing aids, FM, cochlear implant

Disclosure- giving unknown information to others about themselves.
